Martin Sands currently serves as Co-Chairman and Senior Portfolio Manager of Sands Brothers Asset Management. Martin Sands possesses deep knowledge of investing and wealth management. He has deep experience with investment banking, venture capital, private equity and real estate, as well as other traditional and alternative investing strategies. This wide-ranging knowledge has contributed toward the management of Select Access LLC, a large “fund of funds” developed by Mr. Sands for Sands Brothers Asset Management.
Martin Sands has also been involved as a member manager for several late stage venture funds. Additionally, Martin Sands has been responsible for the acquisition, development and sale of 500,000 square feet of prime commercial real estate property.
Before creating Sands Brothers Asset Management, Martin Sands played a number of different roles in the finance industry. Following his role at Shearson American Express, Martin Sands joined the investment bank Oppenheimer & Co. From here, Martin Sands became a part of another investment bank, Laidlaw, Adams, and Peck. Martin Sands played a key role in the creation and opening of investment bank Rodman & Renshaw’s NYC offices.
A resident of Greenwich, CT, Martin Sands lives with his wife and four children. Before entering the world of finance, Martin Sands attended Union College in upstate New York where he graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science. A lifelong lacrosse fan, Martin Sands has been responsible for promoting the sport at the youth level in his community.
