Summary

Since his retirement from the insurance industry in 2001, Marc Abrahms has transformed his lifelong passion for photography into a fulltime job. Traveling all over the world, Mr. Abrahms photographs a wide array of subjects. Portraits in his portfolio include people he encountered while traveling through Indonesia, Thailand, and India, as well as Eastern Europe, South America, and New Zealand. Popular among collectors in the United States and elsewhere, Marc Abrahms has sold photographs in more than 20 different countries, and several of his works have been acquired by the National Geographic Society and the Library of Congress. He currently displays multiple portfolios online through his website, MarcAbrahms.com. His prints can also be purchased from Center Framing and Art in West Hartford, Connecticut. All sales through the store benefit the House of Bread, a local ministry and soup kitchen.In addition to his photographic career, Marc Abrahms always makes time to give back to his community. A longtime supporter and board member of the Gene and Anja Rosenberg Hebrew Home and Rehabilitation Center, Mr. Abrahms led a capital campaign with a goal of raising $5 million for the nonprofit medical institution in the 1980s; the effort was a success, raising in excess of $9 million for the construction of a new facility in West Hartford. Additionally, to supplement the support he gives the House of Bread through photograph sales, Mr. Abrahms volunteers in the soup kitchen as a cook at least twice each month. A veteran of the insurance industry, Marc Abrahms holds a strong track record of success in personal sales as well as corporate leadership. A longtime resident of West Hartford, Connecticut, Mr. Abrahms led the Abrahms Corporation as President and Chairman of the Board. Prior to selling the company to an international insurance broker in 2001, Mr. Abrahms developed the firm into one of New England's largest employee benefits companies.
