Summary

Since 2007, Malikah Kelly has worked on the business, marketing, customer relations, and analysis side of the fashion and luxury industry. Between her years in the industry and her education in human relations, practical psychology, design, and fashion, Kelly has accumulated an impressive list of credentials. Kelly currently serves as Business Manager for Neima Sitawi Luxury Boutique Fashion, coordinating international marketing and branding efforts. After completing a Bachelor of Arts in Applied Psychology and Human Relations at Pace University in Pleasantville, New York, in 2007, Malikah Kelly entered the fashion industry as a Senior Online Editor for beauty and fashion websites Style Weekly and Beautifile.com. Her duties included creation of content such as interviews and product reviews, consultation and coordination with internal and external groups to manage internet marketing techniques, public events, and other customer relations work. Kelly also did minor maintenance for the websites, including the updating of older content, code adjustments, and moderation of user feedback. In 2008, Malikah Kelly accepted a position as a Freelance Market Associate for Giorgio Armani while continuing her work for Style Weekly and Beautifile.com. Her responsibilities included efforts to streamline various aspects of operations, processing of orders and line sheets for client stores and boutiques, and planning and preparation for promotional events. Later that year, Kelly picked up a Press Assistant position with Reiss. Subsequently, Malikah Kelly traveled to Italy’s University of Bologna Alma Graduate School, where she completed a Master of Business Administration focused on design, fashion, and luxury goods.

Psi Chi International Honor Society - By Malikah Kelly

The formal organization of Psi Chi, the International Honor Society in Psychology, dates back 83 years to Yale University. Psi Chi grew slowly at first, then expanded more quickly after World War II. Ruth Cousins, a graduate of George Washington University, brought renewed energy and professionalism to Psi Chi beginning in 1958.Today, Psi Chi has over 1,000 chapters and 500,000 members, making it one of the largest honor societies in the world. Its purposes include advancing the study of psychology, promoting ethical behavior, and encouraging diversity in an international field.In addition to providing recognition to individual students, Psi Chi seeks to encourage creative development in its members. One way it accomplishes these goals is through the quarterly Psi Chi Journal of Undergraduate Research. Topics covered in a recent issue include humor, self esteem, aggression, and prejudice.About the AuthorMalikah Kelly has an active career in the fashion industry, working in sales and marketing, web communications, and product placement in media outlets.
