Capstone Projects

Central Oklahoma Humane Society – Pet Foster Parent Program Campaign - Dec. 2010

Created a campaign to increase participation in the Foster Parent program of the Humane Society.  Researched and created tactics and strategies to better reach the community.  Produced ideas for events to encourage the community to participate in the program.  Designed mock-up flyers for the Humane Society to use for advisements for the programs.

 

 

Socially Orange - Spring 2009

Helped to build the start of a social network for OSU journalism students.  Determined size and arrangement of material and copy on a Ning platform.  Selected style and size of type, and arranged layout based upon available space, knowledge of consumer needs, and aesthetic design concepts.  Wrote articles to begin social networking and traffic on the website.

 

 

Flash Mob - Fall 2010

Responsible for all aspects of the rehearsals for the flash mob, which had more than 50 students volunteers. Accountable for videography and creating viral video of the dancers and later editing the video for final production.

 

 

PR Open Mic - April 20-24, 2009

Social media class took control of PR Open Mic for one week.  Traffic increased 75 percent during the week of our control.  Wrote an article expressing why OSU students think we have a great public relations school. 

 

 

Mini-Baja Communications Team – Fall 2007

Contacted companies for sponsorship in monetary or physical form.  Planned all aspects of the annual picnic to showcase the mini-baja car from the previous year.

Helped plan and organize summer youth events at the library such as bi-lingual readers and dance performances, which brought more than 5,000 children and parents to the Library. Assisted in bringing in people in from the community and local organizations to show and teach what they do. Aided in the creation of advertising materials and brochures for the youth events and business section of the Library. Created design templates for the new Library website.
