An airy Mediterranean bistro featuring a menu stuffed w/ recipes dating back over 100 years and an interior designed by the Red O guy, with flowing curtains, a monstrous, curved wine wall, and a second floor w/ faux-windows and doors, all of which's supposed to evoke a home from the Ottoman Empire, but not the Otto man empire, as no one wants to live in a cartoon school bus.

Everything from skewers to pita's made in-house, w/ dinner options including lamb chops w/ zaatar salsa verde, herb roasted tomatoes, and bulgher pilav; grape leaves stuffed w/ rice, tomatoes, peppers, and onions cooked in lemon juice; and tilapia served in a spicy vegetable pepper sauce, also what the band was briefly named when the doc told her to lay off the salt, and that Spinderalla sucked.

If you're more lunch-oriented, they've also got wraps w/ beef kebab, kafta, and schwarma, as well as marinated beef burgers, and even Italian options like lasagna and pizza margherita, which apparently found that lost shaker of salt.

In addition, they've got a full-service cocktail bar as well as a monster patio w/ hookah service, which, if not done properly, can cause you to (whooping) cough.

Roxbury-Hollywood

Now, one of the original partners in the club has rolled out a new version of the Roxbury a few minutes' drive east of the original Sunset location.

"Back in the 1990s, all the action was in West Hollywood, but now Hollywood is the hub for all the clubs, so we just moved the name to Hollywood," explained Elie Samaha via phone this month. Samaha, one of the partners in the original Roxbury, has brought back the name to conjure the best of times and graft them onto the space that once housed the Ivar club near Hollywood and Vine Street.

"When I did Roxbury in the old days [on Sunset], I didn't have very much money to spend. This time, 20 years later, it's different," said the film producer, who also co-owns several nearby nightspots.

Britney Spears took in the scene from her mezzanine-level perch while Paris Hilton held court nearby. Kobe Bryant was in the house for a New Year's Eve event, and Reggie Bush was there last week.

Introducing Hemingway’s,

A showstopping new bar with the potential to be the city’s next great hangout, officially opening Tuesday on Hollywood Boulevard.

Basically, this place looks like a party spot disguised as a library—just where you’d find Hemingway if he were still around today and socializing with TV actresses instead of expats. (You’ll settle for the actresses, though—Zander and film-producer partners Elie Samaha and Donald Kushner will put you in industry-heavy company.)

So on those nights when you want a well-mixed drink and a bit of a scene, you’ll step past the Hollywood Boulevard grunge and through the indoor-outdoor foyer, and come to a large room with comfortable old couches, thousands of books in the walls and pillars, and a whole wall covered with vintage typewriters. And a DJ booth.

As you bask in the upscale Dead Poets Society of it all, you’ll want to order a Moveable Feast (rye whiskey, sage, lemon, honey and berries). Or for something a bit more Keys-y, there’s the Old Man and the Sea, which is sort of a thinking person’s mojito.

A real zebra walking the red carpet, a blonde bombshell singing in the moon, a man dressed as a white tiger being led around on a leash, an illuminated zebra crawling around on the floor...you're either in Amsterdam, Vegas, on acid, or at Hollywood's newest hotspot- Supperclub Los Angeles.

Union Square’s bustling corner hotspot is still one of the City’s perennial see-and-be-seens (the model waitresses would rather be posing for Italian Vogue). Grab a table on the outside patio to watch busy New Yorkers weave in and out of the local farmers market while you enjoy a milkshake, mojito or burger and fries.

Its heyday is past, but crowds still flock to this converted diner, perhaps because its sidewalk seating still makes for good people-watching and caipirinha sipping. The tropical drinks are refreshing and there's still evidence of a gaudy past: The retro glass-and-metal facade, neon sign and ludicrously superfluous velvet rope reflect the joint's early-'90s glory. The menu boasts Brazilian flavah, but a few dishes prove to be less interesting than described (grilled salmon, for example, comes drenched in mango puree). Sounder alternatives are the paella, rib-eye steak, raw-bar selections and numerous salads. Just imagine how many models have planted their Brazilian-waxed bottoms in your seat.
