Chief Executive Officer

I joined Heidrick & Struggles as a Partner in 1997, became President of Asia Pacific and Europe in April of 2005, and was named Chief Executive Officer in September 2006. Based in Chicago, I have extensive experience in recruiting C-suite executives across Asia Pacific and Europe: I was named "Headhunter of the Year" in 2000 by Finance Intelligence Asia magazine and "One of Asia's Top Recruiters" four years running by AsiaMoney magazine.I believe the subtle challenges facing the global CEO today are more complex than ever before. I contribute regularly to the public debate on the nature of global leadership whether it is through formal participation in the World Economic Forum or simply through dialogue with clients and peers. I’ve recently written a book called CEO: The lowdown on the top job, which is a collection of insights and interviews gathered from these conversations.Technology, the shortage of talent, increased risk and globalization are forcing people who lead organizations to think about the future in a different way. It has encouraged me to think about Heidrick & Struggles in a different way, and what I’ve realized is that we are at a tipping point in this industry. The recruiting industry is on the verge of a major transformation – both in terms of the kind of talent being recruited and how that talent is recruited. We need greater transparency and collaboration across the industry to deliver against our clients' increasingly high expectations and to unleash the full potential of the next generation of global talent. In my opinion, there has never been a more challenging or exhilarating time to lead.
