Kevin Buckwalter

After achieving Diplomate status by the American Board of Family Practice, Dr. Kevin Buckwalter strived to give the best care to his patients, both in his experience at hospitals and at his own private practice. Dr. Buckwalter’s impressive resume is filled with hard work, but also great accomplishments. Dr. Buckwalter’s interest in medicine began while attending the University of Nevada, Reno. Buckwalter participated in experimental neurology research regarding Glial regeneration in an insect’s Central Nervous system, with Dr. Agyli and the university’s Zoology Department. Buckwalter also volunteered at blood drives with the Red Cross. His outstanding academic achievements and participation with community events earned Buckwalter a United States Achievement Collegiate Award as well as a Las Vegas Numismatic Scholarship. Buckwalter graduated with his Bachelor of Science in Public Health. While attending medical school at the Ross University School of Medicine in New York, Buckwalter was given the opportunity to make presentations on Phencyclidine and its effects on the Central Nervous system. Buckwalter made the Dean’s List several times while at Ross, and graduated in the top 10% of his class with honors. Buckwalter completed an internship with the Department of Surgery at the Pennsylvania State University Hospital, and after, was a resident with the Department of Family Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. In the midst of his medical schooling, Buckwalter selflessly took time out to volunteer as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, working for eighteen months in the State of Georgia. Buckwalter moved away from the East Coast upon completion of his residency, and worked on the Family Practice and Urgent Care teams at the Fremont Medical Center in Henderson, Nevada and at the Sierra View Medical Center in Porterville, California before opening up his own private practice in 2001. Kevin Buckwalter M.D. Ltd., a primary care family practice, is located in Henderson.
