Across America, families are facing economic challenges. Gas prices are rising, mortgages are threatened, and thousands have lost their jobs. I have outlined several near-term, tangible plans to address the challenges confronting Americans.

• Helping Americans confront higher living costs and the housing crisis
• Cutting taxes for the middle class and American employers
• Eliminating wasteful spending

"When the people of Iraq are liberated, we will again have written another chapter in the glorious history of the United States of America."  I advocate for the "surge" and counterinsurgency strategy of General Petraeus.  The surge has paid off.  From June 2007 through March 2008, sectarian and ethnic violence in Iraq declined by 90%. Civilian and coalition forces deaths fell by 70%.

• Call for international pressure on Syria and Iran

When Iraqi forces can safeguard their own country, American troops can return home.

As President, I will strengthen the military, shore up alliances, and ensure we can protect the homeland, deter potential military challenges, respond to any crisis that endangers our security, and prevail in any conflict we are forced to fight.

"In a world of hostile and unstable suppliers of oil, this nation will achieve strategic independence by 2025."  My Lexington Project includes:

• Expanding domestic oil and natural gas exploration and production, including offshore drilling and constructing new nuclear power generators

• Reforming our transportation sector
• Investing in clean, alternative energy sources and addressing climate change

I believe the key to Health Care Reform is to restore control to patients so they can afford and acquire the treatment and preventative care they need.

• Expand the benefits of Health Savings Accounts (HSAs) for families
• Work with states to establish a guaranteed access plan
• My Plan of Action to lower healthcare costs
