Creative Learning Academy is seeking a Head of School for the 2010-2011 school year. The ideal candidate will further the schools’ mission to provide students with a strong foundation of academic excellence, creativity, integrity and multicultural awareness. Applicants must have the ability to maintain continuity, manage and expand resources, and strengthen the administrative team and processes. Furthermore, he or she must be an active, visible part of the school, inspiring students and teachers alike in a hands-on way.

Skills:

Prior leadership experience at independent schools is integral to success in this position. The candidate should be a charismatic leader who will bring a best practices approach and apply it to an organization already filled with a capable and motivated staff, faculty and board. Ideally, the candidate will be an astute manager with entrepreneurial vision who will work productively alongside and lead all of the school’s constituents. The candidate must have the ability and desire to analyze good practices and policies and find creative ways to make them even better. Additionally, the candidate must be an engaging and effective communicator, who is well-versed in technology. Each candidate must possess an advanced degree in education as well as a strong academic and administrative background. Five years or more as Head at an accredited independent school is preferred.

Creative Learning Academy is the only secular independent day school in Northwest Florida, serving 200 three-year old through 8th grade students. Founded in 1972, it is FCIS and Florida Kindergarten Council accredited and an affiliate of the American Montessori Society.
