Jesse Gilliland graduated from The University of Tennessee, Knoxville, with his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1980. Over the next several years Jesse Gilliland began to take practical courses in real estate appraisal to establish what would be a long and fruitful career as a professional real estate appraiser. These courses touched a variety of topics, all essential for the real estate appraisal professional. In time Jesse Gilliland became proficient in residential forms, complex residential properties, appraiser's liability, manufactured housing appraisals, easement valuation, limited scope appraisals, and FHA/HUD appraisals.
Today as the owner and proprietor of Gilliland & Associates, Jesse Gilliland serves institutional investors and governmental agencies. Gilliland & Associates performs over 700 property valuations a year, focusing on Single Family Detached Dwellings, Condominiums, and Planned Unit Developments in Davidson, Robertson, Sumner, Wilson, Rutherford, Williamson, Cheatham, Dickson, Maury and Marshall Counties. Jesse Gilliland accesses MLS data to help him accurately gauge property values, supplementing this data with Realtracs MLS on-line county tax records, the State of Tennessee assessment data, and the Courthouse Retrieval System. Prior to founding his own property appraisal firm Jesse Gilliland had the opportunity to work with several notable Nashville-area institutions as an appraiser. These include The Bank of Boston, Leader Federal Bank, the Tennessee Public Service Commission and the Davidson County Assessor’s office. In his free time Jesse Gilliland enjoys following the University of Tennessee and the Tennessee Titans football teams as well as UT basketball.
