Content Management System Administrator
(Expert)
7-9 Years Experience,
(Last Used <1 year ago)
I have had over 7 years of experience being directly involved with the requirements gathering, content auditing, and transfer of a site into a content management system (cms). I have been a programmer, site administrator, information architect, project manager and many other roles for both an internal and external Web presence.
This direct hands on experience in these various roles allowed me to gain a wide understanding of the challenges that content management systems and organizations who implement them face. Challenges that range from workflow to user issues, training and how difficult it can be to break down silos in order to get related content in the same content space.

Wireframe generator

Creating a new site or redesigning an old one is a lot more than just putting a pretty frame around what you already had out there. It's about creating a strategy that invokes an experience that will give your audience exactly what they need to assist them in finishing the task they set out to do and wanting to stay longer because they were able to. That experience creates a lasting impression that will define the image of your company.
A wireframe is most successful when you have gained the support of all involved which then helps them move in the same direction. Once everyone is in support of the direction it makes it easier for the entire team to see the vision, and makes it much easier on the developers when there are clear and defined requirements.
Video Editing

Videos on the Web must be short and entertaining. Web surfers don't have time, and won't make time to something that can't grab their attention and hold it. I have experience creating and reviewing video content for use on many various video hosting Web sites.
Empathy

My work experience started in a grocery store where I learned the incredibly valuable skillset of handling customer complaints and finding a solution. Taking a problem and looking at it from a customer perspective is a skill that has honed my vision for what a customer/user experience looks like.
I managed a email inbox that responded to customer complaints for several years for WSDOT, which taught me about the power of the typed word versus a conversation; how to converse with empathy and clarity, and to make sure the customer felt listened to and got their needs met.
