Overview

I am primarily interested in part-time EDI positions via remote access.

I offer extensive EDI experience, including management, trading partner setup,
transaction mapping, daily operations and support.

Current employment


For the past five+ years, I have been the EDI Specialist for Acme Tools Company.
We use OpenText TrustedLink and BizManager EDI software, along with VAI Software 2000 (S2K) ERP on an IBM iSeries platform.  I am responsible for all aspects of EDI!
We currently have about 100 fully active EDI trading partners.  We exchange 850, 855, 856, 810  documents.  Some trading partners also exchange 846, 852, 940, 945 transactions.

A few of our trading partners are: Stihl, Stanley Black and Decker / DeWalt,
Milwaukee Tools, Makinex, Makita, Bosch, Husqvarna, Emery Jensen (Ace Hardware).

Jim Biwer - EDI experience overview I offer 18+ years of multi-platform EDI experience. I have been responsible for all aspects of EDI: Communicate with trading partners to determine specification requirements. Establish data communications with trading partner (direct or via VAN). Develop maps to translate the documents. Test the maps with the trading partners or their 3rd party testing company. Monitor inbound and outbound EDI traffic for exceptions. Create custom WebFOCUS and Reporting Services management reports for EDI. Troubleshoot and resolve all EDI and data communication production issues in a timely manner. Programmer/Analyst/EDI Specialist/IT Manager experience. Installed/upgraded/managed AS/400 hardware/software. Extensive experience with DB2/400, SQL/400, RPG (II, III, IV, 400, ILE, free), CL/400. At Mall of America, responsible for start-up of Knott’s Camp Snoopy IT department. AS/400 environment with packaged and custom application software interfaced with IBM 4680 InfoGenesis POS system and UNIX ticketing system with touch screen capability. Presenter at COMMON.
