I received the Environment Agency's plain language award in 1999 from Lord De Ramsey for my public consultation and report to Ministers on the regulation of Britain's atomic weapons sites.

Nuclear Siting Report

Nuclear Siting Report

My report Siting New Nuclear Power Stations: Availability and Options for Government was published alongside the May 2007 Nuclear Energy White Paper by the British Secretary of State Alistair Darling. The report received widespread national media coverage and appeared on the front page of The Guardian newspaper and in New Scientist magazine. It was later influential on the £12.5 billion acquisition of nuclear energy utility British Energy by Electricite de France (EDF), completed in January 2009.
