Coordinator for system-wide Diversity and Accessibility Services at the library. Primary responsibility for Homebound Services, the library's two Bookmobiles, and volunteers. Also involved in Services to Older Adults, Accessibility Services, Diversity (includes our Library Settlement Workers) and Adult literacy.

Branch supervisor at a mid-sized community branch serving a population of approximately 24, 000, seeing 2000 patrons a week and averaging 300 patrons a month in programming. Rideau Branch serves a high-need clientele in a diverse community that includes many new Canadians, seniors, young urban families, and a significant number of homeless people living in the 12 shelters and halfway houses located in the immediate neighbourhood.

Selected Accomplishments:

• Supervised branch staff, including 4 full-time employees.

Senior librarian in Children and Teen Services at a large community branch serving a population of approximately 43 000, seeing 3500 patrons a week and averaging 400-700 patrons a month in programming. The branch serves a diverse clientele, including many Francophone patrons, young families and low-income residents.

Selected Accomplishments:

• Trained public service staff to provide information service, readers’ advisory service and programming for children’s and teens. 
• Supervised 2 paraprofessional staff and teen volunteers. 
• As senior staff, respond to a range of day-to-day operating issues such as resolving conflict or building and staff emergencies. 
• Managed the schedule for full-time, part time and casual staff at the branch. 
• Developed several successful outreach programs and related community partnerships.
• Managed the children’s and teen services programming budget.

Senior librarian responsibilities at a mid-sized community branch serving a population of approximately 24, 000, seeing 2000 patrons a week and averaging 300 patrons a month in programming.

Selected Accomplishments:

• Developed system-wide procedure and template for readers’ advisory tools in the stacks: index-card sized shelf talkers with book recommendations written by public service staff. 
• Coordinated French readers’ advisory tools for the system. 
• Represented the library at the University of Toronto Faculty of Information Studies Job Fair (2007-2009).  
• Purchased French Juvenile material for the system. 
• Trained public service staff on information service and readers’ advisory service. 
• Supervised two-three volunteer staff and coordinated volunteer reports and related statistical information. 
• Developed and wrote the initial drafts of various articles for the Chair of the Library Board and the City Librarian which were published largely unchanged. 
• As senior staff, respond to a range of day-to-day operating issues.  
• Developed several successful outreach programs and related community partnerships. 
• Managed the children’s and teen services programming budget.
• Gave feedback as requested on branch staff performance.

• Planned and implemented a library readers’ advisory corner
• Planned a local authors event for the “Montreal, capitale mondiale du livre” celebrations that featured Roch Carrier as the invited guest, and included an extensive historical overview of other authors from the city of Westmount.
• Helped develop and animate a new “Readers to Readers” book club
• Updated, maintained and re-developed the library website
• Supervised four-five part-time librarians: delegated tasks, monitored progress and gave feedback on performance.

• Created the library’s first readers’ advisory tools
• Planned and implemented the first weeding of the reference collection, including a re-design of the space.

• As senior staff, responded to a range of day-to-day operating issues such as resolving conflict, or building and staff emergencies.

Previous experience includes a range of summer contract and part-time roles (including programming, reference, circulation and paging duties) at Westmount Public Library, the Maysie Macsporan Library at Miss Edgar and Miss Cramp’s School, and the McGill University Health Sciences Library.
