I have worked with band students at all levels of music education. As an undergraduate student I was selected to conduct a band of my peers in concert.During my public school teaching tenure I have had success in all areas of the comprehensive band program. I have written drill and arranged music for an award-winning marching program. My concert bands have placed at the ISU Invitational. My 5th grade band enrollments have been the largest in school history. I helped students reach individual potential by coaching them to chairs in honor bands, including the IMEA All-State Jazz Band. I also work as a conductor and performer in the community setting. I enjoy these positions and working with mature performers. I have music directed a number of shows in the Bloomington-Normal area, including "Urinetown", "Seussical", and "The Producers".I wish to pursue higher education in the areas of wind conducting and music education. I hope to be offered a position as a 9-12 band director. I also would like to leave the option to teach at the collegiate level open.
