I served as a Paralegal in this busy Law Firm specializing in Bankruptcy and General Practice. I have experience with various legal specialty fields While in this position, I was able to work on a very interesting case involving Wrongful Death. I contributed to this case from inception to closure.
I worked all cases involving medical issues including Social Security, Workmens Compensation claims, and Disability cases.
I was able to secure this position after completion of a successful internship. This position ended due to my employer accepting a teaching position in another state.
I served as an Adjunct Instructor in various medical classes. My primary classes dealt with proper implementation of CPT and ICD-9 coding. I resigned from this position in order to obtain my Paralegal degree.
I was responsible for the implementation of a separate department within the hospital to process all physician related charges and billings. This department handled all aspects of billing for 13 hospital employed Physicians, 3 Nurse Practiitioners and 2 Physician Assistants.
I was able to set up a system for electronic claims and payments. I resigned from this position in order to obtain my Paralegal degree.
I served on a forty bed Oncology and Orthopedics floor. I was responsible for direct patient care and correct and timely transcription of all physician orders During my employment with this organization, I worked on various floors within the hospital as needed.
I served as Office Manager and Physician Assistant in this Medical Office. I was able to assist in the opening and successful operation of BioLab Medical, a physician owned and operated reference laboratory. I am familiar with CLIA regulations and acceptable laboratory practices.
During the 2005 school year, I served as Secretary of the Davenport University Legal Careers Club.
During the 2006 school year, I served as President of the Davenport University Legal Careers Club.
I have a passion for animal rescue and wildlife preserve. I have had the opportunity to rehabilitate and rescue various forms of wildlife over the past few years.
