Cooperative Intelligence

As Wardrobe Supervisor on From Kilimanjaro with Love I performed beyond merely supervising wardrobe, supporting the production by any means possible: I provided water, towels, shade and blankets to the cast; photographed scene setups for continuity; stepped in as second unit set dresser, wrangled animals and extras; constructed props; solved the problem of how to clean guano from a fountain sculpture ringed by water; and more.

 

While Production Lead at Dynamic Photography I introduced a naming system for the lab's workbenches, allowing unambiguous shorthand communication about the physical space. Similarly I tied the various production stages to a familiar board-game analogy, allowing quick, clear training and status reports. I arranged material supplies in a fixed orientation minimizing mechanical inefficiencies.
