In less than three years, Emily Verrett has gone from an internship with AT&T to a key managerial role for the telecommunications giant. Ms. Verrett is currently the Sales Planning Manager for AT&T’s recently created unit tasked with growing mobility Individual Responsibility User (IRU) revenue, a $1.5 billion dollar annual market. In her role as Sales Planning Manager, Emily Verrett is responsible for advising IRU managers on marketing strategies, developing ROI projections, and creating team processes and performance reports. Emily Verrett joined AT&T as a Leadership Development Program (LDP) intern in 2009, a role in which she was responsible for writing and distributing the company’s Diversity and Inclusion newsletters, analyzing key metrics, and developing accountability processes that resulted in a savings of more than $300,000. Before her current role as Sales Planning Manager, Ms. Verrett served as Lead Consultant of Diversity in the company’s Workforce Development and Diversity unit. As Lead Consultant she oversaw key components of the 2010 National Employee Resource Groups Conference, including creating a major presentation. Before joining AT&T, Emily Verrett spent several years in the political and consulting sectors. A former intern for the First Lady Laura Bush, she served as a Project Manager for the 2006 re-election campaign of Senator Conrad Burns, of Montana. Ms. Verrett also spent several years as an Operations and Events Manager with lobbying firm Denny Miller Associates, in Washington, D.C., and as a Project Manager with management consulting firm Gerson Lehrman Group, in Austin, Texas. Emily Verrett holds a Bachelor of Science in Political Communications from the University of Texas, Austin, and an MBA from Southern Methodist University (SMU), in Dallas, where she served as the President of SMU Women in Business and the Vice President of SMU Alumni Relations’ Consulting and Corporate Strategy Club. When she is away from the office, Ms. Verrett enjoys spending time in the outdoors and following the college football season.
