Responsible for creating daily news graphics (both print and online), such as charts, maps, diagrams, and interactives. Expert in Flash/ActionScript. Helping lead the department in newsroom convergence effort to put more graphics online. Working with reporters, editors, and photographers in a tight deadline environment. Received the 2008 Award of Excellence from Society for News Design. Received multiple quarterly awards in The Best of Multimedia Design Competition by SND.

Lead User Interface(UI)/User Experience(UX) designer for redesign of BostonWorks.com, a job classified section in Boston.com. Coordinating all aspects of the redesign with product manager. Collaborating with all parties involved, such as the editorial managers, developer, content producers, sales, promotions, and advertising while advocating for the best usability and user experience for the visitors of the web site. Responsible for visual design of the website from concept to the final product. Conducted user research and usability testing.Created templates and styleguide, Coded html/css (with developer). developed and customized look and feel of third-party web applications. The redesign was successfully launched in July 2006.

Responsible for daily production, overall design, and content development of csmonitor.com, the online division of The Christian Science Monitor. The Monitor publishes over 40 articles daily and the web site contains over 30 years of archived articles. Worked on XHTML/CSS conversion as part of major web-standard based web site redesign. Produced web interactivity using PHP/MySQL and JavaScript. Lead the development of the style guide for the entire web site. Helped design, develop, and improve existing site information architecture and user interface.

Oversaw overall web design and user experience for both Inc. and FastCompany magazines’ web sites. Web sites contained magazine content dating back 20 years and over 15K pages. Completed three web redesigns: FastCompany.com’s XHTML/CSS conversion in April 2003, FastCompany.com in July 2002, and Inc.com in May 2002 with Dan Cederholm, now of Simplebits.com. Collaborated with editors and programmers. Coordinated a team of production staff and supervised interns.
