About Me

I heard once that when Michael Jordan was asked how, after winning multiple NBA championships and being widely considered as the greatest basketball player of all time, he stayed motivated to perform - he replied "Every night when I go out and play; I know there's going to be someone there who will be seeing me play for the first time, and someone there who will be seeing me play for the last time...Either way...I've got to give them something to remember me by."

I've tried to take that approach with everything I've done in my life so far - whether it was playing college basketball, running operations for a company, writing songs, performing, helping manage producers, producing and promoting charity events, looking for real estate opportunities, consulting, or any other harebrained idea I've come up with or been a part of.

Somebody who's a heck of a lot smarter than me wrote: "Average people talk about things, big people talk about ideas, and little people just talk about other people."

...Agreed.

You can see some of our past ideas here as well as some of the things that are on the horizon for me and the companies that I own/work for/with. Thanks for checking it out.

I'm Currently Working On...

  • Colour Academy is in the studio with Billy Hume working on a lot of new songs for a digital EP that's being released in August. We're inching closer to completing recording after spending the better part of the last few months focusing on this.

  • The Skyline Drive just finished up a "Rename our Band" contest on our myspace allowing fans to send in suggestions for a new name. We JUST announced the winner, "Colour Academy"

  • RMG is in the early stages of developing a social networking/music discover/news website that we will be debuting later in the year. The fine folks here at Visual CV have been nice enough to help us along the way.

  • I'm actively seeking real estate inside the perimeter in ATL for a commercial development project that I am working on for RMG. We are looking to build a unique recording facility for our producers and artists to work in with a focus on building a community environment.

  • I'm continuing to learn and take on more responsibility for the producer and photographer management roster at Weeman Entertainment

  • RMG is just starting work on our second annual "Jingle Bell Rock" which is a benefit event that provides Christmas presents for underpriveledged foster children in our hometown. You can see a commercial for last years event on the right side of this page.

Lead Singer/Song Writer
  • I'd never touched a music instrument or written a song prior to joining the band in 2006. In 2007 we toured most of the year and played about 200 shows all over the US and recorded our first full length album with multi-platinum credited producer Billy Hume.

  • Highlights have included

  1. Playing a sold out hometown show for 6,000 people (Check out the "Band-Aid" video to the right)
  2. Having "Carry On" become the most requested song in the history of WKMX
  3. Getting to see most of the United States
  4. Nomination for album of the year on The Daily Chorus (and coming in second dang it!)
  5. Playing Main Stage at Florida Music Festival
  6. Putting off the "real world" as long as possible.

Owner
  • RMG started as an event promotion and production company in 2007 with a focus on charitable events in South Alabama where I was living at the time.

  • Most notably, after a tornado destroyed Enterprise High School in Enterprise, AL, we put together a benefit concert featuring Red Jumpsuit and The Skyline Drive which sold out at 6,000 attendees and raised approximately $100k for the Enterprise High School fund

  • Recently we partnered with the Coffee County Dept. of Human Resources by organizing a benefit concert featuring Mae and The Skyline Drive and using the profits to provide a Christmas for underprivileged children in the DHR foster child program. We have more events currently in development for 2008.

  • We are now working on the "Group" part of our name by branching into other music related fields in 2008 with a number of expansions currently in the works as we carve out or niche in music industry 2.0.

The Daily Chorus

Phoenix, AZ, United States
Jan 2008 - Jun 2008

Consultant

Tim Towner started TheDailyChorus.com in early 2007 as a music blog focusing on unsigned, undiscovered talent and it has since grown into a viable platform for bands to gain exposure to both industry and fans.

The cornerstone of the site is the quarterly "Top 40 Unsigned List" which has had no less than 19 signings over the last year including 5 bands to major labels. The Skyline Drive was initially featured on the list on January of 2008 which introduced me to the site and to Tim. I have since consulted on a number of projects for the site on an ongoing basis as they look to expand into a unique space among music websites.

Hopper-Moore Inc.

Enterprise, AL, United States
Jan 2006 - Jan 2007

Chief Operating Officer

In late 2005 I jokingly told Barry Moore, who is the owner of Hopper-Moore Incorporated, that he should let me take a shot at running one of his companies. At the time I was wrapping up playing college basketball and just starting to get into music and trying to figure out what I was doing with my life.

Strangely enough, though I was 21 and had no experience, I got a call from Barry in January of 2006 asking if I'd like to take a crack at working his new venture, Shred-Moore, which is a document destruction company. I'd never heard of document destruction at the time (can't you people use a waste basket shredder?) but I decided to give it a shot and for the next year I learned more than I did during my entire time in college getting a business degree gaining experience in commercial waste management, commercial development, market research, environmental waste management, and entrepreneurship.

  • Barry is now my partner in RMG.

I have had the pleasure of consulting, and working with, Cliff in different capacities for the past 2 years.  He has show himself to be an incredibly quick study- as an artist, a promoter and in his new role assisting my producer and photograph roster.  Employing a strong work ethic, diligence and integrity, Cliff stands apart by producing an almost immediate impact on everything he touches.  I am excited he has chosen to use his talents in our industry, and I expect big things from him in the coming years.
