Projects

Integrating Technology into Honors Chemistry

ApplicationFor this project we have 35 iPads, a Bretford charging cart, a Macbook Air, and just purchased a printer. We also received money to purchase apps. We have been working all year to design lesson that successfully integrate technology. In doing this, we have discovered that while the technology makes certain things easier, what matters the most is good pedagogy. This means that designing a good lesson with appropriate curriculum provides a better outcome than if the whole focus is on the technology. The technology is simply a tool to enhance this process.

2012 Technology Café @ The Discoveryhttps://sites.google.com/site/2012techcafe/

I helped put together and run this event. I was responsible for designing the Moodle page (http://moodle.washoeschools.net/course/view.php?id=185) for the Da Vinci Gallery and specifically provided the content for Topics 1 and 4, The Trebuchet and The Rube Goldberg machine.

Northwest Accreditation for Damonte Ranch HS

http://www.washoe.k12.nv.us/damonte/docs/NWAC%20Accreditation%20Report%20DRHS%20Final.pdfI was the Co-Chair for the Steering Committee for our most recent successful  accreditation.

Damonte Ranch HS Technology Plan (Current Draft)

Current Technology Plan DraftI started this draft aligning our school plan with the Washoe County School District Tech Plan, State of Nevada Tech Plan and the National Tech Plan. Our District then decided to change the tech plan, so I am in the process of adjusting our plan. As a part of this plan I manage a budget which I keep in Excel.

Damonte Ranch HS Technology Plan (Original)

Original Technology PlanThis is the plan that was developed when the school opened in 2003.  It enabled us to keep our technology appropriately updated because we knew every year what we needed to purchase. It has also helped us encourage teachers and administrators to use technology.
