Under direction of the Tribal Chairman, this position serves as the informational point of contact for water management and water policy issues that affect the tribe; past, present and future.  The position advocates for the restoration and long-term sustainability of water quality and quantity that leads to the restoration of wild salmon, botanical resources, wildlife, aquatic life, ceremonial practice to the ancestral homeland of  the Tsi-Akim Maidu culture.

Public policy advocacy includes meeting with numerous State, Federal and Local decision making bodies, staying actively engaged with statewide tribal leaders and preparing legal documentation for FERC relicensing projects that affect the Tsi-Akim Maidu tribe, local and statewide interests.

This responsibility requires public administration expertise in deciphering and responding to Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) policy that relates to Traditional Cultural Aspects of Hydropower Relicensing.
