Passionate about his career, Dr. John Anderson works six days a week, overseeing all aspects of his practice at the Anderson Animal Hospital. As a full-service clinic, Anderson Animal Hospital currently employs a team of nine highly skilled assistants. Anderson Animal Hospital's services include daycare, boarding, and grooming. Medical care is available for a wide range of small animals, from cats and dogs to more exotic beasts like iguanas, bearded dragons, sugar gliders, snakes, and birds. Anderson Animal Hospital's comprehensive facility houses modern X-ray equipment, a complete in-house laboratory, a treatment area, a sterile surgery room, and a large pharmacy. Dr. John Anderson personally performs the full range of veterinary medicine, dentistry, and surgery at Anderson Animal Hospital. Educated at the University of Guelph’s Ontario Veterinary College, Dr. Anderson earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 1981. He graduated with honors as a recipient of the Small Animal Medicine award.
Prior to establishing Anderson Animal Hospital, Dr. Anderson gained professional experience as an Emergency Veterinarian at the 17th Avenue Animal Hospital in Calgary, Alberta, and a Staff Veterinarian at Steveston Veterinary Hospital. Dr. Anderson maintains active memberships with professional organizations, including the British Columbia Medical Association and the Canadian Veterinary Medical Association. Notably, in 2009, Anderson Animal Hospital expanded its services to become the first veterinary facility in Vancouver’s metropolitan area to serve as a satellite adoption center for the British Columbia Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (BC SPCA).
