enBloom, a health blog (2008 - present). Founding editor of health web log, http://enbloommedia.com created to clarify American health policy and improve health literacy in the public.

DHHS Office of Women’s Health grant awarded to Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc, Washington, DC (2002). As Program Manager, designed, implemented and evaluated health education programs in risk reduction for youth violence and adolescent sexual behaviors.

TLTsolutions Healthcare Consultants, Silver Spring, MD (2000 – 2001). As a consultant, conducted community health needs assessment, market analysis and strategic planning for hospitals and healthcare organizations in urban environment. Trained health plan workforce in HIPAA compliance.

Led small group instruction and evaluation of healthcare professionals in training in bioethical case analysis in the university's interdisciplinary Health Care Ethics course. Some topics covered included patient autonomy, access to care, and informed consent.

Designed evaluation studies, performed background research for proposal and technical plan development.  Responsible for day-to-day project management of existing contract studies which included appropriate allocation of budget and labor resources, preparation of initial drafts for client progress reports and project deliverables.  Some clients included the Agency for Children, Youth and Families and the CDC Center for Injury Prevention.

Designed and implemented health education programs and contributed to the management of other disease state management programs in the department.  I trained communications staff members at the member BCBS plans in the appropriate implementation of these programs.

Accomplishments:

• Designed the Healthy Families Program, a health education and marketing initiative for the Federal Employee Health Benefit. Trained BCBS member marketing professions (train-the-trainer) in implementing the education program.
• Completed project management training including proficient use of MS Project software.

VA Healthcare Network Upstate New York (based at Albany VA Hospital, this hospital along with VA hospitals in Batavia, Buffalo, Canandaguya, and Syracuse were organized into VISN 2, Veterans' Health Affairs Integrated Service Network)

As a direct report to the Network Director, I conducted strategic planning, market analysis, operations research, policy analysis and policy development.  I served as a liaison to external organizations such as Veteran Service Organizations and Congressional Committees.  I provided project management, group facilitation and served on the NCQA Preparation Team and the JCAHO Preparation Teams which increased quality and integration of health care service delivery across the system.
