I designed and implemented health education programs and contributed to the management of other disease state management programs in the department. I trained communications staff members at the member BCBS plans in the appropriate implementation of these programs.
Accomplishments:
- Designed the Healthy Families Program, a health education and marketing initiative for the Federal Employee Health Benefit. Trained BCBS member marketing professions (train-the-trainer) in implementing the education program.
- Completed project management training including proficient use of MS Project software.

VA Healthcare Network Upstate New York (based at Albany VA Hospital, this hospital along with VA hospitals in Batavia, Buffalo, Canandaguya, and Syracuse were organized into VISN 2, Veterans' Health Affairs Integrated Service Network)
As a direct report to the Network Director, I conducted strategic planning, market analysis, operations research, policy analysis and policy development. I served as a liaison to external organizations such as Veteran Service Organizations and Congressional Committees. I provided project management, group facilitation and served on the NCQA Preparation Team and the JCAHO Preparation Teams which increased quality and integration of health care service delivery across the system.
