A standard around development architecture is defined for a company called Facilicom. This company uses a MOSS 2007 platform with its own OTAP model. The document describes rules and processes around IT performance, development standards and roles including their rights inside the OTAP model. The document also describes code rules and configuration concerning development of Web Parts, Features, Code deployments and content deployments

Facilicom, is an organization which consist of, among others, Gom, Trigion, Axxicom, Prorest, Tapwacht and Breijer, and operates currently in 4 countries namely United Kingdom, Netherlands, Belgium and France. The vision of Facilicom is to implement a transparent Portal which is going to be used for the internal knowledge worker, external customers, external employees and the public. It acts as a single entrance for all these groups of users. I was involved as an architect and lead consultant. Together with the customer and business consultants we decided how this portal contributes  to the improvement  of the process within the organization. This Portal will improve the performances of employees and adds value to the organization concerning knowledge sharing, collaboration internally, collaboration with the customer and synergy between the different business. It concerns  configurations, built of their own components,  including Web Parts, Code deployment, Content deployment. We also set up a laboratory testing OTAP (development, Test, Acceptance and Production). The project is very broad, from infrastructure till depth component development.

I have been involved as a solution Architect in the Special Interest Group  “The new world of work”. From this role I am closely involved  by processes and implementations,  where “The new world of work” plays a major role. Besides the involvement of vision and strategy at organizations, it also concerns support to projects  with the help of scans like Factor 4 and BPIO (Business Process Infrastructure Optimalization), workshops, implementation of portal technology and change management. Organizations are supervised to a situation where processes within those organizations are improved/automated for the improvement /optimization of the working environment. My workload was divided into 50% for customer project (especially initial design of architecture and project setups) and 50% for opportunities, workshops en offer requests. This involves with customers such as TNT, TMG (Telegraaf Media Groep), Vedior, Facilicom, NS (Nederlandse Spoorwegen), SABIC and others.

The Lime (Logica Intranet Moss Environment) project involves the development of two services for the aggregation of the Logica intranet and WM data intranet. We work closely with the ICE project to design a whole new, in MOSS 2007, intranet environment. The first service concerns the news service providing a centralized news center which is able to publish news in any Portal inside Logica. The second  service concerns the Yellow Pages which is a merge of different repositories like workspaces and other information sources within the Logica intranet.  Meta data and tagging is very important at both services.

In corporation with Microsoft and Sanoma Uitgevers, Logica started a Rapid Deployment Program where a  Proof of Concept with MOSS 2007 was started for one of the online magazines “Zo zit dat!”.  This organization has a wide range of custom components developed in MCMS 2002 and made them as a toolkit available to all online magazines. The Proof of Concept must proof that MOSS 2007 is the future tool to provide the same toolkit. Some of the “old” MCMS 2002 components needed to be reconstructed in MOSS 2007.

Sanoma Uitgevers is a publisher of more than 80 magazines like “Margriet”, “Yes”, “Flair,” “Spam”, “Autoweek”, “Playboy” and others. A large number of these brands have their own website which is managed in a Content Management System (CMS) platform build on MCMS 2002. This CMS toolkit is developed and maintained at Sanoma Uitgevers. It makes it possible to build quickly (box of bricks) CMS websites. The toolkit contains components like Poll, Forum, Ads and others.
My work consists of CMS and SharePoint consulting at the department Architecture Infrastructure Centre.

• For the Streep-je-Slank program of Margriet a code review took place and advice is given for optimization and improvements.
• For the entire CMS platform we have been working intensively with Microsoft  to solve performance problems.
• Development of new functionalities and/or expanding of consisting functionality for the CMS Toolkit
•  Integration of Community Server in the CMS platform for different sites. By doing so, it is possible  to link articles to CMS forums
• Adjustments and custom Web Parts are developed for the intranet of Sanoma Uitgevers. This intranet is built in Windows SharePoint Portal Server 2003
• Rapid Deployment Program (RDP) route in which we are collectively develop one of the website with the help of Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 beta

TNT Post has a number of WSS 2.0 environments like Network VSP with 1000+ sites for their internal employees and external parties. It has been decided to migrate the environment to WSS 3.0. In addition there is custom-written (Web Parts) made suitable for WSS 3.0. The environment consists of two major SharePoint Farms (5-server model) for testing purposes and production. My  responsibility was to rebuild and design a model for migration and guidance. I was also used as a reference board for knowledge, ideas and solutions around SharePoint.

The construction of a Company Management System intranet environment  with SharePoint Portal Server 2003. All process documents, support documents and forms are saved in PDF and Visio and are stored in this system. The document s can interoperate by linking to each other. The project contains a large number  of customized Web Parts for showing documents based on their connection to different subjects. These subjects are divided in a hierarchical structure, which can be easily adapted and maintained by the customer.
