A Dogs Day Out

Charles Richardson has been the General Manager and Partner of A Dog’s Day Out (ADDO), LLC, since it was founded in 2004. A Dog’s Day Out is dedicated to providing superior cage-free dog daycare, boarding, and grooming services with the personal touch clients appreciate. 

A Dog's Day Out operates one of the largest open area daycare spaces coupled with the lowest prices offered in the Northern Virginia/ DC Metro area. A Dog’s Day Out has two facilities, one located in Fairfax County in the city of Vienna and another in Alexandria, just across the Potomac River from Washington, DC. A third facility for A Dog’s Day Out is in the works for Northern Virginia and should open in roughly 12 months.

A Dog’s Day Out offers climate-controlled facilities populated with high ceilings, lots of windows and/or sky lights, fakes trees that create mini parks in each area, and non-porous flooring; beautiful white picket fencing rounds out the doggie play land. Dog daycares usually have solid walls between play areas, which un-nerves dogs. A Dog’s Day Out’s picket fencing gives the dogs the comfort to see everything in their surroundings and adjoining spaces, which keeps dogs content and happy.  

As General Manager of A Dog’s Day Out, Charles Richardson is tasked with running the operations of both locations as well as ordering needed products, food, and supplies. A Dog's Day Out offers business hours for its clients 7 days a week, 365 days a year. ADDO is never closed. 

A Dog’s Day Out has proudly hosted dog play dates at its facilities for local community dog groups free of charge since opening for business in 2004. With Mr. Richardson at the helm, A Dog's Day Out was honored by the prestigious Washingtonian magazine in their last two “Best of Pet Care” segments, in February 2006 and February 2008, as a Top Daycare in the DC area.

Charles Richardson graduated from Marymount University in 1992 with a degree in Liberal Studies (Communications and Psychology). He also invented, patented, and marketed across the country a safety product called “Flasher.” Flasher’s goal is safety at night for people and their pets.
